MAESTRO NOTES · BEFORE THE MOVE

The details that make a move feel considered.

A residence is more than its room count. Begin with the pieces, the building and the way you want to arrive.

Begin my private move plan
I / THE RESIDENCE

Start with the rooms you use, then the spaces you store.

Walk through the residence in a fixed order. Record furniture, packed contents and items that will travel separately. Include dressing rooms, terrace furniture, nursery equipment, utility spaces and off-site storage. A move from a furnished condominium can carry a very different inventory from another residence of the same size.

Decide which belongings are moving to the new home, which require storage and which stay behind. Mark those decisions before requesting the survey. If the destination is still being furnished, note any pieces whose final placement is uncertain. Those details help the move team review the scope without relying on a room-count assumption.

The private move planner keeps quantities and room totals together. Its truck view is a volume guide; it does not replace a review of loading fit, protection or vehicle payload.

II / THE PIECES

Name the pieces that need a conversation.

Record the size and type of each piece before choosing a catalog entry. A large sectional, a stone dining table and a delicate cabinet have different handling questions. When an entry does not have a listed volume, provide the outside measurements and a short description. The team verifies those measurements before issuing a complete figure.

For artwork and antiques, note the medium, frame, dimensions and any existing packing. For a mirror, sculpture or unusually shaped piece, describe the surfaces that must be protected and whether the piece can be separated into components. Do not assume that an ordinary furniture entry includes specialist preparation.

  • Document the object: dimensions, materials, removable parts and any access restriction.
  • Document the condition: raise existing damage or fragile areas during the survey.
  • Document the decision: identify pieces that need a separate protection or handling plan.

Use the art and antiques service page to prepare those questions. Valuation arrangements and specialist handling must be discussed with the team; an inventory volume is not an appraisal.

III / THE BUILDING

Give the building its own place in the plan.

Ask management for the moving procedure at both residences. Record the freight-elevator reservation, loading-dock window, parking position and permitted moving hours. Note who can approve access on the day and how the crew reaches that person.

An available elevator and a reserved elevator are different facts. A street-level loading dock can also have a substantial distance between the truck and the residence. Enter stair flights and door-to-truck distance separately. If a large vehicle cannot reach the building, flag that before the schedule is agreed.

For a move involving a managed residence, the building planning pages give context for the questions. Specific building rules still need current confirmation from its management.

IV / THE CARE

Choose packing around the belongings and the day.

Decide whether you will pack the boxes or request crew packing. Keep the belongings that travel with you outside the moving inventory: personal documents, medication, keys and essentials for the first evening. Tell the consultant about any item you prefer to prepare or transport yourself.

The white-glove programme describes the packing and placement approach. The proposal should identify the services selected for your move and the pieces that require additional review. Services that have not been priced remain visible review items.

For a local move, the crew plan includes three movers and a truck. The purpose of advance preparation is to keep the work moving efficiently while allowing appropriate care for the belongings. Working hours are confirmed through the move review; the initial number entered in a planner is not a promised completion time.

V / THE ARRIVAL

Think beyond unloading.

Prepare a room list or floor-plan note for the destination. Identify pieces that need to be assembled before other furniture can be placed, and label boxes by their destination room. Share any timing restrictions that could affect delivery or placement.

If the two residences are not ready on the same date, record the expected storage interval. A warehouse reservation should be tied to the inventory volume and the space actually available. Tell the team which pieces might need earlier access so the storage arrangement can be reviewed.

Read the storage programme before deciding the interval. Moves from or within Florida qualify for up to 14 free days in our Florida warehouse. Any additional days, handling arrangements and access need confirmation for the specific engagement. Storage in other states is available by arrangement and is not automatically free. An online planning request does not reserve a vault or a delivery window.

VI / THE PROPOSAL

A clear proposal records the decisions.

The estimate review brings the route, inventory, packing, building access and storage into one recorded scope. Interstate calculations use cumulative volume tiers. Local calculations use cumulative working-hour tiers. A move into Florida carries the applicable inbound route adjustment.

Review the services line by line. Ask which details are confirmed, which still need a survey and how a changed inventory affects the proposal. A partial calculation should never be read as the complete price. The saved document identifies its revision so the customer, office and crew can refer to the same plan.

For estate moves or executive relocation, include the people and deadlines that influence access and arrival. Keep personal details relevant to the move in the request; there is no need to add unrelated sensitive information to an inventory note.

Can I start planning before the destination is confirmed?

You can prepare the belongings list in the planner. A complete route and proposal require the delivery address and access details. Keep the draft in the current tab and complete those details before submitting it.

Will my artwork be priced like ordinary furniture?

Artwork dimensions help with the volume plan, but protection, condition, materials and specialist handling need review. The proposal records the agreed service rather than assuming a standard furniture entry covers it.

Does sending the plan book the move?

No. It saves the inventory, contact information and request for the team’s review. The move agreement, dates and arrangements are confirmed separately.

Storage and your customer area

Which moves qualify for up to 14 free storage days?

Moves departing Florida or taking place within Florida qualify for up to 14 free days in our Florida warehouse. Select the company warehouse in Florida and record the exact number of days. Availability and dates need team confirmation.

Are storage after 14 days and warehouse handling free?

No automatic allowance covers those services. Storage beyond the included days needs a confirmed rate. Loading, unloading, warehouse handling and redelivery are reviewed separately and recorded in the estimate.

Can I request storage in another state?

Yes. Tell the team which state, belongings and dates you need. Storage in other states is arranged and priced for the move; it is not included in the Florida warehouse free allowance. Inbound moves from another state into Florida do not automatically qualify either.

How do I follow the plan after submitting it?

After your inventory is received, save the private move link. Your customer area keeps your residence details, estimate revisions, storage request and conversation with the consultant together. Request any change for consultant review before accepting a proposal that is ready for approval. Pickup arrangements are confirmed separately.

Open my existing private move area using the link or access key saved after submission. Keep the link private; it gives access to the move details.
